Battlefield 1942 is a highly team-play-oriented
World War II... simulation, I suppose. You can play a deathmatch where
you kill until the enemy runs out of tickets, or lives, or conquest,
where you have to control as many flags as you can, and the team with
any remaining tickets wins. To start us off, there
are vehicles. Vehicles are a giant plus to any game if you ask
me. Especially vehicles with guns... Yummy.
The vehicles are jeeps, half-tracks, tanks, and planes. They're simple
to control, except it's really difficult to aim in the planes, but
what the hey... They're fun anyway. (Is it rhyme-time or something?)
Included in this lovely package are five different classes to choose
from; The scout, the assault, the anti-tank, the medic, and the
engineer. There are different guns for each team, but it's pretty much
just a difference in appearance. Getting a couple
friends together to play some BF1942 is downright fun, except when the
bots precisely bomb you with their freakin' prop plane. That gets
annoying. It's just not possible to do that out of skill, these bots
cheat. All they do is get in the dumb planes and bomb every
single person on that map! Argh! And they never miss!
Rather surprisingly, BF1942 has no blood. That's nice... I'm
tired of seeing games where the entire world is a big blood stain...
but it's also kind of funny, you can pop some guy in the head with
your BAR a couple times and nothing spurts! XD
Overall, Battlefield 1942 is a very fun multiplayer game. Go get it!
