Bilbo Baggins, of the Shire, has never been one for adventures or excitement. That all changes one day when a wizard, Gandalf, comes to Bilbo's front door. After Gandalf and Bilbo visit for a while, Gandalf leaves, but not without putting a mark on Bilbo's door. The next day, Bilbo is surprised and somewhat frustrated, he has thirteen dwarves show up at his house! They propose a mission to him... If he comes with them to take back their mountain, which is under control of Smaug the dragon, he will get one-thirteenth of the treasure found. And, so this starts their adventure. ~Woodstock |

Good book. Worth a read. It is kind of slow getting started, but then it gets real interesting. It is kind of hard keeping the characters separate, but still, very good book. |
